The method
Every assessment and training program we deliver is grounded in the three core pillars of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design.
Maintenance is not a fourth principle — it is a critical factor that sustains the effectiveness of all three. Without it, surveillance lines close, access controls degrade, and territorial cues erode.
Designing spaces to maximize visibility and natural observation. Clear sight lines, appropriate lighting, and maintained vegetation reduce opportunities for criminal activity by making it easier for legitimate users to observe their surroundings.
Guiding movement through strategic design, barriers, and entry management. The goal is to channel legitimate users along intended paths while making unauthorized access physically and psychologically difficult.
Establishing clear boundaries and a sense of ownership through design. Well-maintained signage, landscaping, and spatial cues communicate that a space is actively managed and that unauthorized presence is unwelcome.
